Supporting your child’s development, one movement at a time
At Ohana Physiotherapy, we specialise in working with children diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay (GDD). Our therapy is designed to gently build the physical foundations your child needs — like strength, coordination, balance, and confidence — using engaging, play-based physiotherapy in familiar settings like home, daycare or school.
We understand that every child’s journey is different
Our therapists meet each child where they are and work closely with families to support progress toward meaningful, everyday goals.
We also work within your NDIS plan to deliver personalised, goal-based therapy. We also help with progress reports, reassessments, and multidisciplinary collaboration so your child’s support network is always aligned.

What Is Global Developmental Delay?
Global Developmental Delay is a diagnosis given when a child shows delays in multiple areas of development — such as movement, communication, problem-solving, and self-care. While every child is different, many benefit from early and ongoing physiotherapy to support their motor skill development.

How Physiotherapy Can Help Children with GDD
- Helping children achieve motor milestones like sitting, crawling, standing, and walking
- Improving core strength, balance, and postural control
- Supporting coordination and body awareness
- Building confidence and independence in movement and play
- Reducing risk of future joint or movement difficulties

Our Early Intervention Approach
Early support leads to better long-term outcomes. That’s why our physiotherapists are trained in early childhood development, using evidence-based practices designed to support learning through movement. Therapy sessions are fun, flexible, and tailored to your child’s age and attention span.
- Play-based and sensory-informed strategies
- Visual aids and routines to support understanding
- Collaboration with OTs, speech therapists, and educators
- Regular reviews and goal tracking for NDIS planning
Helping Your Child Grow, Move, and Thrive
At Ohana, we see the potential in every child. We’re here to support their progress with patience, professionalism, and care — so they can participate fully in the world around them.
