Physio for Babies
Gentle Paediatric Physio for Your Little One
- Developmental delays
- Torticollis & positional issues
- Effects of premature birth
- Tummy time challenges
- Motor control and strength concerns
Is your baby struggling with tummy time? Or perhaps you’ve noticed they always tilt their head to one side?
At Ohana Physiotherapy, we take the “clinical” feel out of the room. Whether we’re visiting you at home on the Gold Coast or seeing you in our Robina clinic, our goal is to help your baby move with confidence through play-based, gentle support.
Why Book a Baby Physio Session?
The first few months are a whirlwind. While every baby develops at their own pace, sometimes they just need a little nudge in the right direction. We help parents navigate those “is this normal?” moments, especially when it comes to:
- Tummy Time Struggles: If your baby gets distressed or can’t lift their head.
- Rolling & Crawling: Support for babies who seem “stuck” or are reaching milestones a little later.
- Head Shape & Neck Tightness: Gentle care for Torticollis or flat spots (Plagiocephaly).
- Premature Graduation: Extra support for premmie babies as they catch up on their motor skills.

Care That Fits Your Family Life
We know that getting a newborn out of the house can be a mission. That’s why we offer two ways to see us:
- We Come to You (Mobile Gold Coast): We’ll work with your baby in their natural environment—on their own play mat, where they feel safest. It’s also a great way for us to see how your home setup can support their movement.
- Visit our Robina Clinic: A calm, sunlit space designed specifically for little explorers to move, climb, and play.

What Happens in a Session?
Don’t worry, there are no cold stethoscopes or scary clipboards here. We’ll spend time watching your baby play, checking their strength and flexibility, and then showing you simple ways to help them during daily diaper changes or floor time. You’ll leave feeling capable, not overwhelmed.

What are the "big" milestones we check?
We look at the building blocks of movement. It’s not just about “hitting the date,” but about how they move. We check for:
- 0–3 Months: Can they clear their nose from the floor during tummy time? Do they look both ways equally?
- 4–7 Months: Are they pushing up through their hands? Are they starting to pivot or roll?
- 8–12 Months: Is their crawl “symmetrical” (using both sides equally)? Are they pulling to stand without tip-toeing?
More Information
Do I need a GP referral?
Nope! You can book in directly with us. However, if you are eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan through your GP, let us know so we can help you navigate the Medicare rebate.
Can I use Private Health or NDIS?
Absolutely. If you have “Extras” cover that includes physiotherapy, you can usually claim on the spot (in-clinic) or via your provider’s app. We also support Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS participants.
What if my baby is fussy or sleeping when you arrive?
Don’t sweat it. We’re used to “baby time.” If they’re sleeping, we can start with parent education or a chat about their history. If they’re fussy, we’ll take it slow. We work with their mood, not against it.
